The number of people in the United States who work for digital marketers has dropped dramatically over the past five years, according to a new study by digital marketing firm Digital Marketing Alliance (DMA), a digital-marketing industry trade association.
The median wage for digital marketing professionals has been hovering around $50,000 a year for the past six years, but according to DMA, the median salary for a digital marketing associate is now $30,000.
That’s a 15% drop in median salaries for digital professionals over the last five years.
DMA’s CEO and president, Chris Naylor, said he’s not surprised that digital-industry jobs are at such a low level.
“There is so much value in the work that digital marketers do,” Naylor said.
That means a lot more people are going to be unemployed, and that means a huge amount of stress.” “
But the reality is, a lot of people have to go to work.
That means a lot more people are going to be unemployed, and that means a huge amount of stress.”
While many companies are looking to fill digital roles with experienced talent, there are a lot less qualified people out there, according Naylor.
He said there are no easy answers when it comes to digital jobs, but the best thing for the industry is to find more people who want to work in digital, and make sure they get paid a fair wage.
“I think that it’s important to have a diversity of experiences,” Nooka said.
It is important to hire people who understand digital marketing as a field.
It’s important for them to have skills in design, engineering, marketing, digital, analytics, content and partnerships, and also people who can bring a diverse skill set to the table.
“The bottom line is, you’re not hiring the best people to do digital marketing,” Nason said.
